Brand Story

Hello, My name is Mark John Korkoryi. When my great grandfather Abraham Kodzo Korkoryi founded Native Taste Tea in Ghana in 1920, he knew he was into something special. He believed that Ghana provided the best soil for growing our all natural healing tea and spent 45 years of his life making sure that our products were of the highest quality. He wanted everyone to experience the benefits of this wonderful plant.

In 1965, after having passed on decades worth of knowledge to my father Dennis, my great grandfather passed away and left the business to him.

I grew up helping my father with the company. He taught me everything that he had learnt from my great grandfather, as well as the knowledge he had gained through his own experience.

In 2005 I decided it was time for me to follow my own path. I moved to the US to study my masters degree and create a better future for myself. I missed my home and my family, and even though I was thousands of miles away, I continued to work for our company remotely. I refused to let go of my family’s history.

When my father passed away in 2018, I was determined to reconnect with him through carrying on our family legacy and since then I have followed my vision to bring our family’s tea to people all over the world.

A lot has changed since Native Taste Tea was founded in 1920, but our tea is still grown, picked and dried in Ghana because I carry the same faith in the soil that my great grandfather did a century before me.
